The New Fresh Focus Photography Studio is now open!
And I couldn’t be more excited to share this studio with you!
Building this 850 square foot space out to work as my creative space was a project I needed help on. I called in my friend Julie Wiscaver of Wisecaver Creative Design. She is very much like me – she likes to draw things out and plan. So we measured and drew and ordered a lot of stuff from Wayfair! It was a lot of fun working with someone like her – she’s creative and smart. I have to admit, we had a lot of fun AND she kept me from making bad choices.
I also need to thank Ken for all the help he gave (and continues to give) on this project as well as all the ideas that pop into my mind – he makes them happen. Bella created my little Welcome sign that hangs from the vintage bicycle. So this studio is a labor of love from several people and I appreciate them all.
The landlord might have thought I was crazy because I told him everything had to be painted white! I feel like a white pallet lends itself to the clean and modern look I was going for. It’s important to me that my clients feel welcome and comfortable when they arrive, and that this space is neat and clean.
I wanted my office area to reflect my personality, so I repurposed a grey armiore that was my son’s as a little boy, painted it white and added wallpaper to the interior to make it girly. It’s the perfect place for my giant monitor. I like that when it’s shut, it keeps the place looking neat and tidy.
The seating area was the place I added pops of color – and these pieces will be used for senior girl and family sessions this spring and fall.
All the little things I treasure so much are now on display on the gold/glass shelving units flanking the armoire – these were purchased from Wayfair. A trip to Target and I found these great gold frames that make up my gallery walls. The perfect way to display a lot of images is with similar frames spaced closely together. And of course, Hobby Lobby has lots of little things that you didn’t know you were looking for that fill in areas that need a special something !
Adding to my studio wardrobe took time and planning. So many new items for newborns that are specifically made for photographers. These little outfits fit baby snugly and are current with today’s trends. I also have wardrobes for babies up to one year, and dresses for little girls up to age 10. Maternity gowns are also available for use as well as anything you can think of for little girls hair.
